Jake’s Obituary August 15th 2003
From a note buried with him:

These are the Earthly remains of Jake “The Good Boy” a registered German Shepherd Dog AKC DL432612/14 10-6-1992 as Maur-Joy’s Jake.

Jake was born May 13th 1992 and lived 11 years 3 months and 2 days. He was a remarkable dog and friend. A true Mahatma (Great Soul). He was Marina Foster’s only dog she ever had and she took remarkable care of him. I had the privileged of sharing him in our home  he never left my side. To the end he was alert, noble, kind, gentle, and a great companion. He died nobly with Marina and I at his side…

He just got old and could not walk anymore. Marina gave him extraordinary care these past few months. He had an attack partially crippling him on Thanksgiving day 2001 and she cared for him daily since….we loved him and he will never be forgotten.

We buried him in his favorite spot by the lake deck gate. In his grave are all his belongings on this planet; his toy bone, collar and tags, food and water bowl, his curry comb, a copy of his AKC registration, and the jar with this note….may his life continue………..Steve & Marina Foster 8-15-2003

Critter
1991 - July 15th 2005

On July 15th 2005 Jake's friend and our dearly loved old cat died. We called him "The Little Critter" or just "Critter". He was a bold and valiant "Warrior" strong to his last breath with a tenacity for like - he struggled with cancer for two years and never gave up.... but his precious form could no longer support his intense life forces. We loved him and he will be missed...by us and all the people -pilots - mechanics - and passengers he used to entertain and fight with at the airport where he worked as chief mouser before retiring. May he join Jake in eternity.......
