At 1pm on Wednesday Sept 11 Sunset Memorial Park will be dedicating a
memorial and section to all the persons serving in the public safety sector
in Vermilion County.

 There will be a joint honor guard comprised of Danville
Police, Sheriff Deputies and Danville Firefighters.  The Mayor, Rep Black,
Sen. Myers and other dignitaries will be participating in the dedication to
our local heroes of public safety.  The officers and firefighters killed in
the line of duty will be honored and representatives of their families will
be represented.  North East School's choir will sing the National Anthem,  
Chief Weber will read the Fireman's prayer, Chief Alexander will read the
Policeman's prayer and Sheriff Hartshorne will make a special presentation to
Myran Deckard's widow.  This will be followed by an unveiling of the monument, a bell ringing ceremony and a 21 gun salute followed by taps.  The public is welcome to attend.
